All-  I just finished putting together a Loblolly Pine Listing. If you have and additions please let me know. I plan to also do one with Blad Cypress and Long Leaf Pine as well. Here are a couple of photos from my latest trip up to Noxubee NWR a week ago. I have a lot to report on coming soon.

The tree was short to 115' but the 13' 2" Circumference isthe largest in the state that I have measured.

Alright, Larry, I've got some for ya. The coast lobs aren't particularly tall but I've included them for their girth. Away from the coast, I'm using 130' for a height cutoff.

Brian-  Thanks. I'll get these added to the list. Matt, Ed can you create an area in Projects for the Listing?  Thanks Larry

Larry,

I looked around a little bit, and I don't think it will let me add a category in there. Maybe Ed can add it or the special lists section might also work.

I haven't measured very many loblolly pines, but I was able to measure a few decent-sized ones at Simpsonwood during the Tree Climbers International/Native Tree Society rendezvous a couple years ago. The Simpsonwood property has been bought since then, fortunately by Gwinnett County Parks.

Species: Pinus taeda, loblolly pine
Site: Simpsonwood Park, Norcross, GA
County: Gwinnett
Date: 10/9/2013
Measurer: Matt Markworth
Forest-grown
Height method: Sine-based with Nikon 440/Suunto Clinometer
7'10" x 132.8'
6'10" x 127.1'
7' 5 1/2" x 122.8'
