I want to do a feature on Burls for the August eNTS Magazine (maybe more later) on Burls. Please post photos of big and interesting burls in this thread.

Burl in nearly dead White Ash tree. West Orange, NJ. There is significant woodpecker work on the branch to the left. The tree is estimated to be about 2 feet in diameter at 4 feet above ground.

I really enjoyed the gorilla (or Australipithicus) burl and the "crowning" burl. We're expecting this week, so it's fitting.
