Yesterday I met up with Duncan Kennedy and John Montague to explore some nice montane forest on the western side of the Sierra Nevada. It was a grueling bushwhack as we tried to cover as much area as possible before getting dark.

Once again, thank you for inviting me along! I'm confident that there's plenty more to explore yet in that area; I'm working on the LiDAR analysis for it today.
Also, I'm still somewhat ashamed you and John outpaced me. Clearly I need to focus more on my cardio; I'm way younger than y'all and was still left in the dust.

Michael,
Mind-blowing! You guys continue to make astounding discoveries. I'm sooooo jealous.
I hope the fires have subsided out there. Did any of the well known redwood sites suffer damage?
