Nice seeing winter where it isn't as unpleasant as winter in New England- where we spend a third of the year living in a refrigerator. Or maybe I'm just getting too old to enjoy it.

Here's another from Lost Man's Fault. Think I posted another from this fallen Titan once. Wrote a blog post today to go with it, with a hypothesis on why fallen titans are so darn rare to encounter.

Hey, everyone.  Sadly, I have not been up to the redwood parks since a January 1, 2014 visit to Montgomery Woods with a friend here on the forum.  But that's about to change.  On my way to spend some time at Harper Flat in HRSP shortly.  It will be nice to return to the area after all these years away.

Until you mentioned how long it had been, I hadn't realized that much time lapsed.

Sounds like good weather is moving in, at least from one point of view. I prefer a mix of rain and clearing, but it looks like you will have plenty of clear sky with minimal chance of rain.

Almost 3 years, did you at least fit some Big Basin in there somewhere?

Hey John and Mario, yeah sadly I lacked clear objectives in the forest and was caught up with family life.  Did not fit in Big Basin.  And then that whole other problem came up which has given us all grief.  Kind of discouraged me as I waited to see if it would get resolved.

Weather was absolutely perfect in Harper Flat.  Was out measuring with lasers and tapes with Mark for 10 hours pretty much non-stop.  Extremely successful day.  It was definitely good to be back and I'm hoping to keep up a more active presence moving forward.  Surprised myself with how well things turned out but was asked to keep most photos under wraps, which I will do.  Will only share a few pictures of outsiders way down the list.

Just realized you posted. The board malfunction didn't add this to the new posts to view.

May take a couple months, but I'm hoping to get down around Avenue of the Giants before August arrives.
