Sweet Gum and Red Maple over the Bronx River

Post by Jenny » Wed Nov 10, 2010 11:42 am

Just pretty pix of the leaves of a sweet gum and of a red maple hanging over the crisp, blue, tumbling water of the Bronx River after it falls over the old 7 ft. waterfall built in the 1840s by the Lorillards to power their tobacco mill.

Jenny,

Sweetgum can have really pretty fall foliage. The trees at work have leaves that can turn a crimson purple. Sweetgum leaves can show considerable variation in color in the fall from tree to tree.

Maple is always an eye-catcher!
