#1)  1st 40 in. x 60 in. coast redwood canvas print

This month brought a first for me ... ordering a 40 inch x 60 inch canvas print of a redwood tree and forest.

The past few years, I've ordered plenty of 20 x 30 prints and canvas prints, many of which look good, and I enjoy. But the cost is much less so there is far less risk if one didn't come out quite as expected. Although, I learned to do a test print on photo paper first, large, and that helped a lot.

The test print 20 x 30  looked good for color, but only the 40 x 60 will tell how the details look for this photo. Even on a large monitor, you can't see the individual needles with just 2100 pixels. Hope its good enough to put in a gallery, but I'm confident it will be sufficient for my own office wall too. The large size canvas prints are close to $300.

Are the files you're printing from individual captures, and if so, what camera are you typically using? I'm hopefully going to be doing some large prints soon as well but all my high-resolution work has involved stitching frames from 12 or 16mp APS-C format DSLRs. Your images are always beautiful.

Hello Erik.

That was a single shot from a 50 megapixel Canon 5DS.

I just picked up the big print canvas yesterday and my wife asked me to order another one for the gallery because she wanted to keep it for the dining room, once she saw it.
