NTS,
Will's recent post made me think of this puzzling eastern redbud. It currently holds the #3 spot on the Ohio list. It's one of a few trees in Woodland Cemetery (Dayton, OH) that I'm confirming for the Ohio big tree coordinator.
It was measured in 2003 as 67" x 26' x 34'. For comparison purposes, I couldn't figure out where the 2003 girth measurement was made. For fun, I measured it at 1.5' off the ground and got 114".
Thoughts on where to measure girth?
Another fun one!
Matt

Geez... I would hesitate to call it a single tree in the first place. Just give it an "Honorable Mention".

Just measure the gravestone. Oh wait, you can't even do that.
That is an absolute mess! There's a low branch and probably four trunks. I agree with "honorable mention". If hard pressed for an answer, I'd do the large, rotted piece above the low branch but that still may be a double.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, this is probably one to just appreciate it for what it is.

I think it would have definite possibilities as a girth champion in the "Bundle of stems" category.
