If anyone in the group is or will be in the San Diego area, check out composer John Luther Adams new public art sound installation called “The Wind Garden” at UCSD. I do not have a link to a podcast or sound file yet, but I will add to this post when I come across it.

The project includes 32 trees near the Mandell Weiss Theatre that Adams has outfitted with speakers and accelerometers. The accelerometers – instruments that essentially measures vibrations – capture the trees’ movements and turn them into sound via a computer and software housed in the nearby theater.
