Extending reticle testing

Ents,

I've been discussing the various formulas for measuring the width of a target with a monocular with range-finding reticle with Eric Wiseman, VA champion tree program coordinator, Cadre member, and an associate professor of urban forestry at VA Tech. The value of the reticle pretty clear, but just how accurate are the methods that employ it? There's no such thing as too much testing. Here's the latest test.

The accuracy of the Trapezoidal method surprised me. The tests don't always come out this well, but they are always impressive. Setting up a longer distance test is next. Stay tuned.

Ents,

Below are the results of a reticle test conducting this morning. I was going that extra yard. Reticle measurements rule.
