Hi Don,

I am pretty sure that some of the larger quadcopters are actually running LIDAR modules for GIS purposes.  Payloads for the large professional quadcopters (e.g. used for cinematography) are at or above 20 lb or so.

That sounds like FAA approved for more than 400' above ground level stuff !

Thanks Matt, intriguing stuff, and it seems that DJI is a player although not necessarily the cream of the crop. I guess I shouldn't be surprised Apple lists the DJI in it's Accessory section!
