Trupulse 360 vs. Trupulse 200

Post by Matt Markworth » Thu Jun 26, 2014 6:53 pm

NTS,

I'll be meeting up with the Ohio big tree coordinator this weekend to help her get familiar with her new Trupulse 360. I'm comfortable with my Trupulse 200, so I should be well-positioned to help.

Other than the internal compass in the Trupulse 360, are there any other differences that I should be aware of?

Thanks,
Matt

If you have dead-solid shots of high point and base use the missing line routine and display VD.

Matt,

Calibrating the tilt sensor requires a different set of steps for the 360 as compared to the 200.

Thanks Will, thanks Bob.

We met up at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, OH. It was the perfect setting to test out the functionality of the Trupulse 360 in various situations. We're very fortunate to have a big tree coordinator in Ohio that is interested in going beyond traditional tangent-based height measurement.

The only bad news of the day was finding the Ohio Champion slippery elm dead (it was 249 points)...

Matt,

Bummer on the elm! However, it should have given some good crown exploration opportunities for finding the highest twig...

Crap, I hate seeing that...but it seems to be inevitable...
