#1)  Posting to more than one catagory

Postby James Parton » Sun Mar 14, 2010 4:43 pm

Hey, Ed & Bob.

Are they a way to post a subject to more than one catagory? Say I do a trip report on say, " Chestnuts at Victor Fields NC " and need to post it to both the NC trip reports page and American Chestnut Project page. How would I do it without copy and pasting?

James,

You are a moderator in the American Chestnut Project category.  Post there.  Then look at your message.  Below the post is a couple of drop down menus.  The bottom one reads Quic-mod Tools.  You can select Copy Topic and hit go.  This will take you t a screen that asks you where you want the copy to go.  In this case you would select North Carolina.

If this doesn't work for you Private Message me and I will check your setting.  Bob Leverett and I currently have moderator on all forums and can copy a particular post or topic from anywhere to anywhere.

Ed,

That should work. Thank you for authorizing me as a moderator for the Chestnut Project. I hope to really get involved with that as warmer weather comes in.

All your work is appreciated.

James,

A simpler method would be to use the cone post option, but it does not clone the photos incorporated or the attachments.  So you need to go the extra step and do the copy topic option available to you as a moderator.  That way the new copy will retain the images and attachments.  You can always clone it if it is just text.

Ed,

Actually I wondered what that " clone post " text at the bottom was. Now I know!

Thanks: James
