Great post on the 3 favorite and least favorite Trees. It is so difficult to choose 3 out of so many wonderful trees. How about your 3 favorite Trees from other parts of the world. English Oak, Cedar of Lebanon, Monkey Puzzle. Larry

Larry,

This list has the potential to get out of hand!!!

My top 3 Non-natives:

1.) Just about any Japanese maple
2.) Dawn redwood
3.) Cedar of Lebanon

Steve Springer

p.s. if you ask about azaleas, I cannot limit myself to just 3!!!

Larry,

I'll borrow a couple already mentioned and add one myself.
1. Dawn redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides); sometimes I confuse it with planted baldcypress, but I like both.
2. Eucalyptus regnans; great size and cool bark
3. Fagus sylvatica; American beech with a twist!

Ceiba samuama what I believe to be the larger of the two trees commonly referred to as Kapoks

Metasequoia glyptostroboides Dawn redwood

Eucalyptus regnans Mountain Ash

As you can see I am prejudiced in favor of big trees.

1. Dawn redwood (I keep finding them around town--21 so far...and counting)
2. Gingko
3. China-fir (Cunninghamia)
