#1)  A Town Forgotten and a Lonely Ginkgo

Postby Matt Markworth » Tue Apr 11, 2017 8:07 pm

NTS,

Cairo, IL - I went through this town last October and knew that someone really needed to do an on the ground report of the state of the town with photos. Today I see that someone did just that. I stopped when I saw the big ginkgo on the main drag, but it was behind bars and even it gave off the sense of loneliness and desolation. Here's the mentioned article and a couple snapshots I took of the tree.

The article says, "The decline of Cairo is a version of a familiar story in the US. It is a story of brutal, dramatic, and often predatory economic changes."

Oh, but don't worry- Trump will bring back all the jobs and make America great again! :(

I love gingko- one of my favorite species.

Well, seeing Trump built a business machine that hired thousands more jobs than you or I ever caused, I'm guessing Trump gives a far better chance than you do to trigger some jobs. Just going on logic, set aside betting odds stats.
