Old Growth in PA near Elmira NY? Rickets Glen? Bark Cabin?

Post by greif » Mon Sep 14, 2015 11:52 am

I will be down in the Elmira area in a week or so and am looking for some new old growth to gawk at.
Wiki says the Evergreen trail in Ricketts Glen has a hemlock that predates 1492- true? Other good places to go in Ricketts?

Bark Cabin is also supposed to have some old growth- anybody have comments on the area?
Thanks!

Evergreen trail is great as is the falls trail if you head up from the road and hike towards the top. The patch between the road and the falls is really nice.
