The Big Butt Trail traces the the ridge where Big Butt, Little Butt and Point Misery lie. It starts out through red spruce and yellow buckeye dominated forest. Re maple, sugar maple, striped maple, mountain maple, bigfruit hawthorn, and yellow buckeye are also present, along with an everpresent viburnum.

At Point misery, the bigfruit hawthorns steal the show. They achieve the largest and tallest known.
