Brian,

Good luck! They have been on the radar of park staff for 75 years. However, I don't think anyone has ever searched every possible local that could support them. Perhaps the Smokies are just too wet.

I thought I found one in Cataloochee a few years ago. I damn near had a heart attack! It was just a fluke eastern with Carolina bark characteristics.
