My Intro

Thanks you for creating this excellent BBS.
I've recently discovered I've had a long-standing love of trees, especially large, old trees. As long as I can remember, striking tree forms have caught my eye as we drove or walked along through the country or even in dense urban areas, and now I carry my camera with me and photograph what strikes me. I've been wondering what it is that grabs my imagination about trees, and have not really found a complete explaination. When I was a kid I LOVED to climb high up into trees, which scared my Mom silly, and so I had to do it on the sly. I was always on the lookout for good climbing trees. I was also once invited to a draawing class. The teacher had us drawing trees from our imagination and expounding on the way the "air moves through the tree". I couldn't do it and was not invited to return, but I afterwards always looked at trees differently. I also see personaliities in trees. This was caught very well in the talking trees in "Wizard of Oz" which greatly impressed me as a child. In this regard, I think that your acronym of ENT prefectly captures one aspect of the fasination with trees.
I am actually very lacking in tree knowlege, and can identify only a couple of species - but I hope to learn more.
Thanks again for your hard work in creating this BBS and for letting me rant on about my love for trees.
