Re: Favorite Music Inspired by Nature
Bob, that would be wonderful if Monica was to learn the Sibelius - they are really terrific pieces, and I think one of his best piano collections. I just wanted to add this curiosity to the list by Diego Stocco - "Music from a Bonsai" Here he uses a simple process of layering rhythmic patterns to bu...

Re: Favorite Music Inspired by Nature
I think that the "tree cycle" of Sibelius is one of the finest examples of this Finnish composer's sensitive, pantheistic way of feeling: "the trees speak" to him. This recording is performed by the Japanese pianist Izumi Tateno. The Trees, op. 75 No. 1. När rönnen blommar (When The Rowan Blossoms) ...

Re: Soundcard: Scots pine, Sicily

That is, I think, the way everything is. Hopefully, one of these days I will make it across the big pond to record some of the forest sounds...

Graphic Leaf Scores - the Mediterranean Series
A few of my most recent graphic music scores that trace leaf shapes from trees in Sicily; they were done while I was an artist-in-residence in Palazzolo Acreide. Three of them were exhibited in the rare books and maps room of the Museo dei Viaggiatori (Travellers Museum), which I thought was pretty ...
