Don,
I am glad to see you in!
Back in December you sent me a letter requesting a couple of pictures of American Ash Trees that I took on Craggy Pinnacle and Sam's Knob for the bulletin. I sent them to you. Hopefully you got them.

Ed, Though I disagree with a minimum character limit because sometimes a simple reply is all one needs I will respect your decision as a moderator. I am sure most of us would. We admire your work and this is one of only a very few downsides of a great new forum. Locking the post against a reply is p...

Jenny,
As far as I am concerned birds are wildlife. Whether in a forest of trees or a forest of skyscrapers.

Gary & Larry,
I had two guitars at one time. I could not play very well but I had fun. I am thinking about getting a new one.

Jenny,
This really made me smile. I think they need instruction from Will Blozan as well as equipment.

Steve,
I have always found Tree of Heaven and Empress Tree both to be attractive trees. Beauty has nothing to do with them being invasive to an ecosystem.

Re: Bald eagle encounter
Steve, The last Bald Eagles I saw was at Congaree National Park last year during the ENTS measuring blitz. They were a pair flying high overhead. I have also seen them near Lake Russell which is on the border of SC & Ga between Clarks Hill lake and Hartwell lake. Osprey are common along Lake Russell...

Re: Virginia Pine and Shortleaf Pine
Barry,
Even if you don't have a laser or clinometer carry a good tape to measure the girth of trees you find. I am very interested in the cbh of Pitch Pines in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. Of course don't leave your camera behind.
