Prodigious heights! I haven't been to any of the coastal regions in the West. I'm suffering from tall tree envy. Thanks for getting an R5. I think I'll work on the Western States' summaries as well.

Those are some supersized oaks! The pin oak is easily the largest forest grown pin. It's also near the top in height. We have very few numbers on Illinois. The southern part of Illinois could have some excellent bottomland forest. There is an abundance of old growth, some of which you found.

I noticed that my total site number did not add up to the total of #1 sites. I did a count after the stats were made and I missed some sites. The total number is around 220, not 205. I will adjust the numbers tomorrow.
